Denver Round 1- Nana's house

After a fast and furious move we took off for three weeks in Colorado. The first part of our trip was spent at Nana's house. We were blessed to have my grandfather, Beep, come spend the week with us too. We played outside in the sprinklers (with nice thick grass, not hard Florida grass), went to the Rockies game to celebrate Carter's birthday, went to the zoo, watched Aunt Sara and Uncle Jon play softball, went to the Wildlife Experience, and spent a lot of time at the playground.

Nana had to work one morning so we helped her out by doing a little yard work.  Beep is the master gardener in the family and he was imparting his wisdom onto Addie and Carter.  Addie liked digging in the dirt and Carter liked playing with the worms.  They named the worms Oscar and Addie would squeal when she would find one and Carter would pick it up and play with it.  On more than one occasion I thought he was going to eat one.

Carter had the privilege of turning two while we were in Denver and he had not one but two birthday celebrations.  The first one was at the Rockies game.  We all went to watch the Rockies get creamed by the Pittsburgh Pirates.  It was an ugly game but we had lots of fun.  I think Carter's favorite part was getting his ice cream in a Rockies hat.

It was hot for Denver so we turning on the sprinklers and let the kids loose.  Now, hot for Denver was like 90 and no humidity so the poor kids lips turned blue pretty quick.  But, they didn't care and they played out there all morning.

Parker, Colorado has this thing called the Wildlife Experience.  It's like a museum of natural history but on a much smaller scale and with animals only.  Thanks to the Blue Star Museum program we were able to go for free.  It was a great way to spend the morning.

We also headed to the zoo... because you can never see too many animals.  I've learned that no one cares about all of the "cool animal pictures" that I take so this time around I took no pictures of the animals and only a few of the kids.  It was nice not to be hauling around the big camera and digging it out every few minutes.

We finally ended the visit with cupcakes for Carter's birthday.

Thanks for a great visit Nana!

OH my goodness how much fun you all had. When we were little and our mom was in the garden, she'd give the worms to Sibling, and he would chase me around the yard with them and throw them at me. icky!!!
