Little Ballerina

She's a star!!! Addie had her first of hopefully many dance recitals this past weekend and she did great! Unfortunately, the video quality isn't that fab and about half way through you hear Henry telling the usher that he's not taking pictures since she asked him to put away the camera, and the helper is standing in front of Addie for some of the dance, but those things aside, she's so darn cute and we're so proud of her. She had so much fun taking dance this year and the recital was worth every (lots of them) penny. We can't wait to add tap to our repertoire next year.

Getting ready to go on stage
These were taken during the dress rehearsal since we couldn't take pictures during the performance.
My dollies have the flu... boo hoo hoo
"Forevermore"
And these were taken after the performance:
Carter stayed home with Miss Jayme since there is no way he could have sat through a 2 hour performance.
Pink flowers for the princess
CONGRATS!
Pink cupcakes and Pinkalicious.  Quite possibly the cutest book ever and Addie loves it.
A celebration cupcake needs candles.
Bottoms up!  Don't worry people, it was sparkling grape juice.  And, she didn't even like it.

Fun with Nana

Nana came into town this past week to visit with the kids and see Addie perform in her final school performance and her first dance recital. While she was here we went to the beach, the park, played outside, and drove back and forth to a lot of practices. The kids had a wonderful time playing with her and we appreciated all of her help. Thanks for coming to visit!

Little Lambs... the best thing in PC

Last year I signed Addie up for preschool when she was 2 and I got a few sideways glances from people and questions like why in the world would I put my 2 year old in school. Well, because she loves it. She has had the most amazing group of kids to play with and to learn with and to love and we can not say enough good things about her teachers. Ms. Brenda last year was amazing and truly gave Addie the best possible first school experience. Ms. Barbara this year is stellar. She goes above and beyond to teach the children and to show them love. Addie has learned this year not only all of her letters, how to write them, their phonetic sounds, and pre-reading skills, but she has also learned to share, to play with others, to wait her turn, to make new friends and most of all to love others. Ms. Barbara has taught her class to treat each person with compassion daily and has given her group of 8 darling 3 year olds life lessons they will always take with them. So for those who day preschool isn't worth it and that they can do the same thing at home I have to say I disagree. Preschool has been the very best thing about Panama City. We will miss all of our friends at Little Lambs so very much and thank them for all of the love, time, and support they have given us. Take a minute to enjoy Addie last concert at school.

Pool Party

Last night Magan invited us to come hang out at the Hammocks pool for the evening. It's funny to see how different my kids are. Addie is very cautious. In fact, she didn't even budge from the stairs the whole time even though she was having a blast and thought she was "swimming". Carter on the other hand as NO fear. He would walk right up to the edge of the pool, count to three, and step off. He would have drowned several times over if I hadn't been there to catch him. So, although we had tons of fun, until Carter gets swim lessons and can develop a respect of the water going to the pool without another parent is just too hard.

Carter and Meg post swimming.  He was too busy trying to figure out how to get out of the stroller to look up.
Addie, Jackson, and MC.  The flash wouldn't fire so it's dark.

Pump It Up

Since it's a night week Henry's been going in later so he was able to come to Pump It Up this morning and play with us for a little bit. I haven't been to PIU since Carter started walking because the last time we went when he was crawling was torture. He was in everyone's way and couldn't participate in any of the activities. This time was SO much better. He could play and run and actually had fun. I think we're over the PIU hump and can go this summer when it's so hot outside.

Dinner with Daddy

It's been a night week at the squadron we on Monday we took our dinner and brought it down to Henry's work so we could see him for a bit. We ate in his office, which the kids thought was WAY cool, and then they ran around the squadron like crazy people so we had to leave.

Cottages for Kids

Our in rosemary Beach they have several very cool and very expensive play cottages set up for kids to play in and to be auctioned off to benefit the kids of Walton county. We took the kiddos out there to play and as you can see, they had a marvelous time and I got lots of good ideas for the play house that I plan on (Henry) buliding. This website has the best DIY furniture plans.

Addie climbed all the way to the top window... and then got stuck so we had to climb up there to get her down.

Sister's Day

I had to rush in here and jot this down because it's so cute and I don't want to forget it. We were talking at dinner about Mother's Day and how much I like my bracelets and how Father's Day is next. We were brainstorming some ideas for Henry and Addie exclaimed, "Hey mom, after Father's Day can we celebrate Sister's Day where I stay home and you and Daddy go and buy ME a present, like the Hello Kitty fan?!" Sure Addie-girl... we will celebrate sister's day very soon.

Happy Mother's Day

My sweet kids went to the mall on Saturday to pick out something special for Mommy. Henry let them raid their piggy banks and evidently they carried around their dollars like prized possessions. Addie eventually picked out a Hello Kitty mini-fan but alas she didn't have enough money (major bummer huh?) and so I ended up with a set of really cute blue bangle bracelets that they bought all by themselves. How cute is that!
