We got into Denver Wednesday night and headed down to the Springs to hang out with old friends for the weekend. Thursday we went to lunch at "Mitch's" which was the "chow hall" where the cadets had lunch. We sat with a lovely group of cadets at their table and it reminded me of how naive we both were back then. I hate to say they have a hard reality check coming when they graduate but... That night we met up with our long time friend Aaron and his wife Gina for dinner. It was nice to see them and get to catch up before all of the weekend festivities kicked off.
Friday morning we hit the hotel breakfast and then went back to the "Zoo" to attend a lunch, shop the visitors center (something we always so and for some reason we always buy something), and walk around the cadet area which I've never done. We got to peak in their rooms and even snuck into Lt Col Steve Black, Henry's sponsor and good friend's nutrition class. After that my sweet friend Steph and I along with her new baby Samantha broke out and hit the mall while the guys went to a class meeting and chatted with some other people. That night we went to the formal dinner and had a great time hanging out with friends we haven't seen in a while, some dating back to pilot training for me and some back to graduation for Henry.
Saturday morning kicked off early with a trip to the jump squadron where Henry showed me where he hung out for 4 years and then the football game which was awesome! Air Force had lost to BYU the past 4 years but the creamed them this day. We enjoyed watching the game and tailgating like college students.
Sunday we flew home. What an awesome weekend! And yes, I took like no pictures because we were having so much fun... oh well.
