Birthday Girl

We've got a FOUR year old! It's hard to believe that it's been four years since Addie was born. In a way it's gone super fast, but it also feels like we've had her forever and we can't imagine what our lives would be like without her around. She's pretty lucky in that she got to celebrate her birthday a few times this year. The first day of school happened to be her birthday as well so her sweet teacher, Mrs. Bennett, let us bring in cupcakes on Tuesday and she celebrated with her new classmates.

That night was also her first night of ballet and we decided to let her open family gifts that night, hence the ballet outfit in the photos. You can see this was the year of the American Girl Doll. She loves her dolls and getting them dressed in their different outfits.

We also had a party with her friends here in Virginia. Four years ago I was pregnant with many of my good friends and we've been blessed to have most of them back here at Langley with us. Addie's had instant friends and I've enjoyed not having to start from scratch with a core group of friends. Today 3 Air Force friends and 2 teaching friends brought their little girls over for a fairy party. I had ordered fairy wings and tutus along with some other fun things for the girls to wear but the post office managed to loose the box and so there was a little drama leading up to the big day but thanks to the power of Facebook I was able to track down some wings and tutus and the day was great.  The girls played, the mom's gabbed, they girls mom's made bracelets, and Henry kept us on track while Carter tried to get into the action. We had a wonderful time and I'm so thankful for these sweet girls.
