4th of July Fun

I am a 4th of July junkie and LOVE spending the holiday with friends.  This year we invited the Akers' and the Biebel's over to grill out and enjoy the day with us.  We live on base so no illegal fireworks were involved this year but we did manage to wrangle the kiddos into a bike parade.  It was no less than 100 degrees outside and we were all sweating as we tried to pull crepe paper through the spokes of the bikes (word of advice, yours will never look like the example I printed off from Martha Stewart) and so after a few minutes of actually trying we let the kids go to town with their own decorations and then let them take off. 

Shortly after the parade the skies opened up and it down poured for the rest of the evening so we didn't get to see fireworks this year.  Bummer.
