Every year we've heard about how wonderful the base egg hunt is and how they have something like 18,000 eggs for kids to find so this year we decided that we would go and check it out. We got up early, loaded the kids in the car (by the way they were totally grumpy) and drove the half hour to base. We got in line and Addie and Carter were split by age. She went to the 3-4 hunt and Carter went to the 0-2. What we didn't realize is that 0-2 really means 0-2.99999 months so there were kids who were almost three hunting with little Carter. I have no pictures except for this one of Addie since Henry and I had to split up and I had the camera but from what he said she was NOT into it and only decided to pick up 5 eggs.
Carter on the other hand was SO into it but he got trampled by the almost 3 year olds and he only got to gather 2 eggs because he wasn't fast enough. So, my overall impression of the base egg hunt... we could have skipped it and been just fine.

Awww. Addie looks really excited to be at the egg hunt.
We had an egg hunt at our church that lasted, maybe, 30 seconds. They were split into age categories, but holy cow... Liam hesitated a few seconds and ended up only getting two eggs, even though he was one of the older kids in the 0-3 group! Connor only got two because he insists on opening and eating the chocolate before trying to find another one!
